TVA Sports Renaud Lavoie provided an update and he is indicating that Patrik Laine could join the team practices as early as today after the Canadiens' day off yesterday.
Patrik Laine's absence has left a big gap in the Canadiens' lineup and it was Michael Pezzetta who stepped in to replace.
But even if he had big shoes to wear, he saw extremely limited ice time over the three games he played.
Michael Pezzetta logged less than six minutes per game and did not register any points.
The Canadiens have been very good in recent weeks and they are into the NHL playoff race.
Patrik Laine has recorded 10 points with 8 goals and 2 assists in just 13 games this season and he is one of the best offensive player for the Habs this season.
Patrik Laine's return comes at a critical time since the Canadiens look to maintain their momentum and help their playoff push.
His presence on the ice is expected to immediately boost the team offensive production.
Stay tuned for our official updates on Laine's participation in team practices and confirmation of his availability for Friday's game.
