Announcement by Guillaume Latendresse: Maxime Lapierre reacts to his departure from La Poche Bleue
To the surprise of many fans, former Montreal Canadiens player Guillaume Latendresse made a major announcement early yesterday evening.
Indeed, Latendresse officially announced that he was taking a break from all his professional activities, whether with La Poche Bleue, TVA Sports or Le Bataillon, in order to take care of his mental health.
The former number 84 of the Bleu-Blanc-Rouge admitted that he was going through very difficult times mentally, probably due to the many concussions he suffered during his career.
"I wanted to write to you to let you know that I am currently going through difficult times mentally.
This has been a recurring situation for a few years, probably a symptom of my concussions during my career, and I decided to try to solve my problem this week. » - Guillaume Latendresse
Personally, I am very happy to see that Guillaume Latendresse had the courage to talk about his situation. In my opinion, he really made the right decision to leave the public sphere to take care of his mental health.
After all, there is nothing more important than health in life!

Maxime Lapierre reacts to the departure of his good friend
Appearing on TVA Sports last night, Maxime Lapierre mentioned that he was aware that his sidekick had been facing a difficult battle for a few years, adding that he had made an excellent decision to prioritize his mental health over his professional obligations.
"I've been by his side almost all of our adult lives, I see him almost every day, we played hockey and I know how difficult it is. When you start to accumulate concussions and stress takes over, at some point, to have a better life quality, it's important to think about yourself." - Maxime Lapierre
He also indicated that it was the right thing to do and that he greatly respected Guillaume Latendresse for having the courage to make such a decision.
"That doesn't mean it's dramatic, it means he needs time to get the machine going again. I'm not worried about him, I think he'll do the right things, he'll take his time, think, have fun, not rack his brains.
It was the right thing to do and I respect that enormously." - Maxime Lapierre
We want to send him a big wave of positive vibes and love in these difficult times!
