Samuel Montembeault, number 35, will be back in front of the Montreal net for a third consecutive game, following Cayden Primeau's poor performance against the Washington Capitals.
What bad news for the young Cerberus!
Despite going winless in his last two performances, Montembeault performed well, stopping 54 of 59 shots received against the Penguins and Flames.
This solid work on his part gives hope, but with a Habs attack struggling to score, Montembeault will have to redouble his efforts to reverse the series of defeats.
Since the start of the season, the Quebec goaltender has a record of three wins, five losses and one overtime defeat, with a goals against average of 3.38 and an efficiency rate of 0.898.
For Primeau, in six games, he has a record of 1-2-1, an efficiency rate of .861 and an average of 4.38. We agree, stats that are not of the caliber of an NHL goalie.
Will this new opportunity allow him to shine and ensure a victory for Montreal?
Is Martin St-Louis making the right decision by keeping Montembeault in net?
The game against the Devils will be decisive and fans are impatient to see if the Habs will manage to bounce back.
