Kent Hughes could be forced to trade Mike Matheson this year, Seravalli says
Tipster Frank Seravalli wrote a very interesting article about the 15 players who are most likely to be traded by the trade deadline.
Moreover, to the surprise of many Montreal fans, a Canadiens player is ranked 9th on his famous list.
While some observers expect that 34-year-old veteran David Savard will probably be traded, it is rather Mike Matheson who, according to Seravalli, could soon leave the Habs' organization.
Even if he believes that Kent Hughes wants to keep the services of his defenseman, he is convinced that the value of Matheson, who obtained a personal high of 62 points last year, will be so enormous that the Habs' management will have to consider the possibility of trading him.

Now that's interesting!
Personally, despite the fact that Matheson could allow the Canadiens to obtain a very interesting return, I'm not convinced that trading him is a great idea, especially since the defensive brigade is rather inexperienced.
In short, Hughes will be faced with a big dilemma, he will have to make an important decision concerning the future of his defense.
The number 8 of the Habs has accumulated an impressive total of 13 points in 20 games so far this season.
With that being said, since his arrival in Montreal, Matheson's offensive contribution has been exceptional, he has collected 20 goals and 89 assists (109 points) in 150 games with the Canadiens.
